Pop Art in America: Selections from the NSU Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale

July 5 – August 24, 2014
*Exhibition dates vary due to gallery lighting upgrades.
With its bold colors and consumerism imagery of soup cans and Brillo boxes, Pop Art was dominant in the late 1960s. The focus on popular films, television, and packaging gave it a fresh, contemporary feel and narrowed the divide between commercial art and fine art. Organized by the Museum of Art | Fort Lauderdale, Nova Southeastern University, the exhibition includes works by artists central to the American Pop Art movement: Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, James Rosenquist, Larry Rivers, Jim Dine, and Robert Indiana.
