Another Birds in Art opening weekend has come and gone. There’s so much excitement and pride each year seeing the exhibition come to life and getting to share the experience with the artists, Woodson family, Museum members, and community.
The weekend flew by, as it usually does. I’ve been combing through the many photos to cure my post-BIA blues. Here’s a few of my favorites:
First, we must acknowledge and thank Mother Nature for the beautiful weather all weekend! Lot’s of time was spent outside during our Member previews on Thursday and Friday evenings.
We had several awesome Artist in Action demonstrations on Saturday morning. All smiles from both the artists and visitors—these programs are a crowd favorite.
There was no shortage of smiles in the galleries as well. Making new friends, connecting with old ones, and lots of incredible avian art to enjoy. What’s not to love?
We had some special guests from the Raptor Education Group, REGI. Artists got to observe several different birds up close. Some of the birds even posed for the camera!
We had some awesome hands-on art making opportunities to top off the weekend, thanks to our Museum educators.
If you weren’t able to make it to the Birds in Art opening weekend festivities, fear not. The exhibition will be on view through January 3, 2027, and we have an events calendar full of avian-inspired programs and events to look forward to. We’ve even extended our hours so that visitors can enjoy the full Birds in Art experience 9 am – 4 pm Tuesday through Sunday.
