Environmental Portraiture Workshop
Learn the basics of composing and creating portrait photographs from Pao Houa Her. Taking inspiration from Pao’s personal library of contemporary photobooks, participants will practice portrait photography on their camera or smartphone. Experiment with different techniques to set the scene for your images with backdrops, props, or everyday items. Practice engaging your subject for a desired outcome or experiment with candid moments to tell a story through the photographic lens. Participants will explore outdoor settings on the Museum’s campus to generate photos (weather permitting). This workshop is designed for teens and adults. No photography experience is required.
Fee: $50 for Museum members, $65 for non-members; includes materials and lunch (registrants must provide their own camera or smartphone). Register online or call 715.845.7010. Scholarships are available.
