Join us for the first Collection Gala at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum—an evening of elegance, intrigue, and discovery. This inaugural event is designed to inspire meaningful connections while also making a lasting impact on our community’s legacy.
Guests will be transported to a dreamy secret garden, where florals will adorn the garden path leading to an elegant tent nestled in the Woodson Art Museum’s Margaret Woodson Fisher Sculpture Garden. Enjoy a sophisticated atmosphere with charcuterie and champagne, a multicourse menu, and floral-inspired cocktails and mocktails, in an environment designed to build connections. Throughout the event, guests will enjoy an elevated experience and support a cause that will impact the community for generations.
The night’s highlight will be the selection of an exquisite work of art for the Woodson Art Museum’s permanent collection. During the Gala, the artworks will be on display, and a live vote by guests—who will be credited in the artwork’s purchase as a “Friend of the Collection”—will determine which artwork joins the Museum’s collection. The announcement of the selected artwork will kick off the dancing portion of the evening, ending the night on a high note with a new addition to the Museum’s collection held in the public’s trust forever.

Every sponsorship helps offset the cost of hosting the event to support an artwork’s acquisition. Artworks from the Museum’s collection show community members and out-of-town visitors that Wausau has much of which to be proud. Because of the Woodson Art Museum, our community is the keeper of artworks that hold a significant place in the history of culture, art, and the world.
