For fifty years, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum has been providing the region with world-class experiences through exhibitions, programs, and art making, all with a commitment to always free admission.

As a “collecting institution” (a museum that is actively acquiring more artwork for the enjoyment of our audiences), the Woodson Art Museum, its staff, and trustees take the responsibility of collecting artwork seriously. Each time the Museum acquires an artwork for its permanent collection, it is with the understanding that the artwork remains with the Museum forever, able to be enjoyed and learned from by future generations of community members and visitors.

We invite you to be a part of our legacy and attend the first Collection Gala at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. The Collection Gala will be an elegant garden party in the Museum’s Margaret Woodson Fisher Sculpture Garden, where exceptional food, beverages, and entertainment awaits. At the Gala, you will have the opportunity to vote on which artwork will be the next to be added to the Museum’s permanent collection, an enormously important undertaking.

The larger art world, whether it be at major galleries, museums auction houses, or international fairs, is a world filled with intrigue, sophistication, and luxury. The Collection Gala is a unique Woodson Art Museum event that will transport those who attend to that world for one night.
