Ana Sewall, 2026 Summer Intern

Hello! My name is Ana Sewall and I am thrilled to be a summer intern at the Woodson Art Museum. I recently completed my first year of studying art history at Montana State University, but I’ve lived in Wausau for my entire life. Art has been a big part of my life since I was a child, and I think I’ll always carry my passion for creativity with me no matter what path I follow.

When I was a student at Wausau East High School, I completed the International Baccalaureate 2-year Visual Arts course and was lucky enough to have my artwork exhibited at the Museum in the 2025 Portfolios exhibition.

Some things I like to do for fun include antiquing, hammocking with my friends, and listening to Madonna. My favorite part about my internship at the Museum is how much hands-on work many of the tasks require. I’m not necessarily referring to physical labor (although cleaning the outdoor sculptures is a memory that will stick with me for a long time), but rather the small moments in-between allowing me to familiarize myself with the processes of collecting, storing, and displaying artwork.

Spending lengthy amounts of time in an atmosphere with such fine artwork allows me to examine artmaking processes I’ve never seen up-close before. The internship has been so beneficial for my growth as an artist, a student, and most of all, as an appreciator of the arts!
