Moments Captured

Over the years, the Museum’s Sculpture Gardens have become more than just a serene escape from the hustle and bustle—they’ve evolved into a popular backdrop for taking photos.

On any given day, you’re likely to spot a couple posing under the beautiful trees, a family striking a pose near sculptures, or a group of friends capturing candid moments on the staircase leading to the lower garden and pond. With manicured lawns, seasonal blooms, and incredible sculptures, the gardens always offer a stunning setting.

In the last few weeks, we have seen many high school students stop by to take their Homecoming photos. Rain or shine, sleet or snow, we can always expect to see a few kids show up to take pictures before formal dances.

Growing up in Wausau, I remember participating in this same tradition for my Junior Prom.

Now, as the coach the D.C. Everest High School dance team, I get to see my athletes use our beautiful spaces.

It is heartwarming as a member of the staff to think about all the ways the Museum impacts the community. Whether finding inspiration in the galleries, learning new skills in the classroom, or providing the perfect scenery for capturing memorable moments, it truly is a place that everyone can enjoy.
