Wisconsin’s Driftless Region is calling our name for this three-night, four-day all-inclusive trip. We will use Madison as our home base and set off each day to off-the-beaten-path art and cultural venues in towns across the region. Highlights of the trip include Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin, a studio visit at Birds in Art artist Sue Medaris’ home and farm, a private reception at Abel Contemporary, and an exclusive tour at the Chazen Museum of Art.

We will start our trip off by coach to Spring Green where we will tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s personal residence and drafting studio as well as the Hillsdale Drafting Studio with the Taliesin Preservation. Following dinner in Madison, we will explore the Olbrich Botanical Gardens at night in their annual outdoor art exhibit, GLEAM.

Our morning will start off with an exclusive curatorial tour at the Chazen Museum of Art followed by the afternoon in Stoughton. We will explore Stoughton’s downtown with visits to Grand Inspired Gallery & Woodworking Makerspace, Stoughton Opera House, and Livsreise: Norwegian Heritage Center, all highlighted by a private reception at Abel Contemporary, where we will have the opportunity to connect with gallerists and local artists represented by Abel Contemporary.

Our next days journey will start by exploring art and cultural venues in Madison such as the James Watrous Gallery, UW-Madison’s Special Collections, and Tandem Press. On our way out into the country for the afternoon, we will hop off the highway in Verona to explore the spectacle of art and architecture of the software company, Epic’s campus. In Mount Horeb, we will be welcomed into Birds in Art artist Sue Medaris’ home studio and farm followed by dinner at a scenic farm to table venue.

On our final day of the trip, we will meander back home to Wausau by visiting artists along the way that are a part of the Fall Art Tour. In Baraboo, we will tour the International Crane Foundation which hosts a captive flock of around 100 cranes representing all 15 species worldwide and opportunities to learn about how to protect cranes and their ecosystems.
