Hot Off the Press: From Matrix to Masterpiece

This exhibition brings together works from the permanent collection highlighting the full spectrum of printmaking techniques, including intaglio, relief, lithography, and serigraphy. From the precision of engraved lines to the boldness of carved blocks and the vibrant layers of screen printing, the works demonstrate the enduring dialogue between technical mastery and artistic vision.

Tiffany or Ti-Phony? A Story of Desire

JAN 17, 2026 - MAY 3, 2026

Tiffany or Ti-Phony? A Story of Desire

Featuring 45 lamps from The Neustadt’s renowned collection, Tiffany or Ti-phony? is the largest traveling exhibition of Tiffany lamps to date. Starting with a seemingly simple question—is a lamp genuine Tiffany or a deliciously deceptive Ti-phony?—this exhibition sheds light on an unexpected tale of innovation, desire, and imitation. Exciting new research, careful comparison, and engaging interactive elements offer a fresh and fascinating perspective on these beloved artworks. By learning to look closely, visitors will uncover clues to the lamps’ true identities and discover why it’s important (and fun!) to spot a fake.

The production, presentation, and exhibition of cultural disciplines – specifically the visual arts – are at the heart of the Woodson Art Museum’s mission “to enhance lives through art.” Museum curatorial staff select changing exhibitions for their ability to achieve one or more of these goals: appeal to different aesthetic sensibilities, express divergent points of view, explore the art of diverse cultures, provide opportunities for community engagement, and demonstrate an array of art-making techniques.

The Woodson Art Museum presents a diverse schedule of historic and contemporary exhibitions each year, with Birds in Art being an annual mainstay. The Museum also develops dynamic programs to complement each exhibition, most notably, artists in residence. Varied subject matter and art mediums provide endless opportunities for education programs and special events to enhance the lives of all visitors through art.

Located on Wausau’s east side, the Woodson is the only full-service art museum and sculpture garden serving a vast 15-county geographical area. While other regional organizations offer exhibitions and arts-related programs, no area or community organization equals the depth or quality of visual arts experiences provided by the Woodson Art Museum. The traveling exhibitions presented by the Woodson, as well as exhibitions drawn from the Museum’s permanent collection, are without parallel in north central Wisconsin.
