You can register for our programs and events online. If a program or event requires a participation fee, you must pay the fee in full to reserve your spot.
The Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum offers a variety of free art events in Wausau, but some of our events and programs do require a participation fee. These fees are listed in the event details where applicable.

At the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, we believe art is for everyone, no matter their walk of life. To that end, we offer scholarship funds for youth and adult program fees, thanks to the Wisconsin Valley Art Association.

If you’d like to attend one of our programs or art events in Wausau, but all available spots are already full, call the Woodson Art Museum to ask about joining a waiting list. We offer waiting lists for select events to give other people a chance to join an event if one of the original participants cancels.
If you’re on the waiting list and a spot opens up, we will contact you to reserve your spot and, where applicable, take payment for the participation fee.
We have programs for Museum visitors of every age and stage of life, from babies to emerging artists to seniors, and everyone in between. No matter who you are, you have a place at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.
You can find age restrictions/recommendations in the event description where applicable. If you have any questions about whether an event is suitable for you or your child or need recommendations about which events may be the best fit, contact the Museum at 715.845.7010.
If you’re attending one of our workshops or a program that includes guided art-making, the Museum typically provides the materials needed for your activity. However, if you’re visiting the Woodson Art Museum for a self-guided open studio session at the Glass Box Studio, you will need to bring your own materials.
If you have further questions about whether or not you need to bring your own materials or if the online description of your program or event doesn’t have the necessary information, contact the Woodson Art Museum to ask.
For classes and programs requiring registration, we will reserve your place only after receiving the full participation fee. Up to 7 days before a class begins, you can request a refund, minus a 20% handling charge.
If you cancel within 7 days of your class, the fee is nonrefundable unless there is a waiting list, in which case we will issue a refund minus a 20% handling charge.
If the Woodson Art Museum cancels a program, you will receive a full refund of your participation fee.
