Woodson Art Museum Selects Artwork for 2023 Birds in Art Exhibition

Wausau, Wisconsin: Artwork created by 112 artists from throughout the world will be included in the 48th annual “Birds in Art” exhibition, on view Saturday, September 9 through November 26, 2023, at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. This year, 664 artists submitted 1,121 artworks for consideration by the jury.

The exhibition includes 21 artists who were named Master Artists during previous “Birds in Art” exhibitions, and 90 artists whose work was selected by the jury. “Birds in Art,” which presents original paintings, sculptures, and graphics created within the last three years by worldwide artists, once again celebrates avian marvels through fresh artistic interpretations.

The first day to view “Birds in Art” 2023 will be Saturday, September 9. The planning is underway for exhibition-opening festivities on Saturday morning, September 9; details to come in August. The exhibition will be on view during the Museum’s extended opening weekend hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 10, and remains on view through Sunday, November 26. Before visiting, check www.lywam.org for details.
