Consider the ways the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum can support teaching objectives in and beyond the classroom.

Bring students for class visits!

Docent-led or self-guided tours arranged for groups of 10 or more, three weeks in advance.

  • Docent-led experiences: Trained volunteers guide school groups through galleries featuring changing exhibitions, artwork from the collection, and the sculpture garden. Docents are meaning makers who facilitate thoughtful dialogue through hands-on materials, storytelling, and interactive questions.
  • Self-guided Visits: Time for reflection, rejuvenation, and independent exploration.
  • See suggested exercises for engaging with art
