“All the News That’s Fit to Print”

By: Kathy Kelsey Foley, director on October 26th, 2022

Big news today . . . for me and for the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. After more than two decades at the helm, I will retire on December 31, 2022; Assistant Director Matt Foss will assume the directorship on January 1.

Kathy Foley at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum“Woodson Wanderings” is an ideal vehicle through which to share this news for a variety of reasons.

I am especially proud of the Museum’s blog, which launched on September 9, 2008. We promised back then – more than fourteen [wow] years ago – that we would deliver fresh content every Wednesday. And, the Woodson staff delivered. We never missed a week.

Our blog is akin to a living diary. It’s both timely and evergreen in the sense that it resides on the Museum’s website and is searchable. Yes. All 734 posts, according to my calculation.

Woodson Wanderings also reaches a large audience of subscribers – there’s no cost to subscribe, through the delivery of a “new post available” message each week. The newest blog then gets further amplification through the Museum’s social media channels.

In short, what a great way to share exciting news. Click here to read the full press release.
